I'm part Malay + Pakistani + Arab + Indian. Born in Malaysia, grew up in England, and currently living in Malaysia.
I'm realy into architecture, fine arts, fashion, music and dancing. I enjoy works by Rem Koolhaas, Calatrava, Van Gogh and music of The Killers, Adele, Joss stone.
I wear the hijab, its a part of me that I embrace and love. Some people might not know how hard it is for women with hijab to look and be fashionable because there are a lot of things we can't(or in this case shouldn't) wear like leggings, sheer and bodyhugging clothes, etc. Plus the headscarf should cover the chest area. Personally I think that's what makes it more challenging and fun for me. Makes me wanna try harder everytime because i love fashion so much! but i would never go against my values just to follow a certain trend.
Quoted from a beautiful hijabi fashionista on the idea and beauty of wearing the hijab '' A woman is so treasured, akin to a precious jewel, that her beauty need not be leered at or made into spectacle for anyone and everyone to see. To put it plainly, a woman's goodies should only be appreciated by her husband, which isn't a bad idea given the "less (clothes) is more" mindset a lot of women today seem to succumb to, and to me, seems to have a lot to do with the disrespectful ways in which men often treat women..''
