What is Northern Nights Music Festival, or NNMF?

A three-day celebration of music, art, food and local culture, the annual Northern Nights Music Festival (NNMF) takes place every third weekend in July.

This year Northern Nights will take place on July 14th-16th, 2017. Now entering its fifth year, NNMF has created its home along the South Fork Eel River at Cook’s Valley Campground, 3.5 hours north of San Francisco at the intersection of Mendocino and Humboldt counties.

Who can go?

Northern Nights is a 18+ event. Bring your ID!

Where do we stay?

Northern Nights is a camping festival, so every ticket comes with free camping. You can camp in the meadows, under the redwoods (extremely limited, unless you reserve) and by the Eel river. Remember to bring your own floaties!

What can we do at Northern Nights?

This year’s line up includes Big Wild, G Jones, Random Rab, and Living Legends who are performing as a full group for the first time in more than a decade. For a full list of line up, go here. Catch them, or discover new artists, and put on your dancing shoes at Northern Nights' Main Stage, River Stage, Grove Stage, Silent Disco.

In addition to these stages, there is going to be tons of live art, chill spots to lounge in (there's a hammock lounge!), farm-to-fest foods, Yoga In The Grove curated by Bloom Farms. If you’re 21+, don’t forget to check out the 215zone at the festival.

Anything else I should know?

Northern Nights throws a great festival. It also promotes sustainability and invests in community.

In 2014, Northern Nights received a Commended Award from A Greener Festival.

Northern Nights' current and past community partners include Eel River Recovery Project, Friends of the Eel River, Healthy Planet US, KMUD Community Radio, Leggett Valley Unified School District, Piercy Volunteer Fire Department, Salmonid Restoration Federation, Sanctuary Forest Land Trust, Southern Humboldt Community Park, and Southern Humboldt Schools Foundation.

All in all, have fun, but be mindful of others and be mindful of your own actions!

Has Lookbook ever been to Northern Nights?

Unfortunately, no. It's been on our list for a while. Did you see that it was included on our summer playlist last year? Let's go next year!
