They say - as the festival gets bigger, so it goes with the celebratory activities. Pool parties are a welcome treat for festivalgoers looking to cool down, meet new people, get refreshed and enjoy a momentary escape from the chaos, while the after-parties provide an ongoing scene for those that haven’t had enough of their daytime music marathon.

Here’s a rundown of the must-see events that came and went at Coachella this year, from rad performances and killer DJ acts to exciting surprise announcements, fun DIY workshops and super stylish giveaways.

Back for its 5th round, the Lacoste 2-day pool party was an idyllic toast to its new L!VE collection and subsequent mantra “Life is a beautiful sport.” L!VE is all about embracing a new state of mind, combining the brand’s original style of color and sport with the contemporary appeal of youth culture and modern street art.

The soiree was the epitome of the brand’s new tagline, with live artist installations, a putting green, hip poolside cabanas, iconic pool crocs to dance-float on and bounce house tennis games. Tons of cool activities were available, including Lacoste DIY sneaker painting workshops held by PS I Made This and a booth for getting henna crocodile tattoos from Tattify Tats.

Custom print coconut drinks and tequila popsicles kept notable guests refreshed throughout the day, including DJ’s Elijah Wood and Alexa Chung, celebrities A-Trak, Katy Perry and Steven Tyler, and notable LOOKBOOK bloggers Juliet Vo, Gregory Davalos, Aimee Song, Rachel Martino and Julie Sariñana.

GUESS went double-time this year with a 2-day hotel bash at the Viceroy Palm Springs, followed by Brent Bolthouse’s Neon Carnival, hosted in collaboration with Nylon Magazine and Olay Fresh Effects.

There was definitely a fruit-lovin’ theme going on with Clover Juices for healthy hydration and juicy watermelon slice floaties in the pool. If guests weren’t cooling off, they were found munching on Hang 10 Tacos, resting in bright-white lounge pods, playing a friendly game of ping-pong or grooving to DJ Izzy Lawrence on sound. And of course, we can’t forget their generous giveaways. This year’s party favors included handy denim fanny packs, heart-shaped sunnies, plastic red water guns, lush towels and We Are Frends animal print earbuds for VIPS!

The GUESS-themed Neon carnival, now in its 3rd year, is touted as one of the most exclusive parties at Coachella. The stunning lights, free carnival games, flowing open bar and glittered-out thrill rides make for a one-of-a-kind festival experience. Booths included an Olay Fresh Effects station, a Skull Candy display and treats from STK and Fatburger. DJ Ruckus and his cousin Zoe Kravitz spun plenty of top 40 and hip-hop, with support from DJ Politik.

The scene was dotted with the likes of Puff Daddy, Steven Tyler, Ryan Phillipe, Jared Ledo and Joe Jonas, and Lookbook style bloggers Kristina Bazan, Aimee Song, Gregory Davalos and Kimberly Pesch.

Cynthia Vincent’s Twelfth Street Brunch was one of the more intimate parties held at Coachella, a tight-knit gathering attended by some of your favorite fashion & style bloggers. Hosted by Lindsey from CV, the charming Palm Springs house was the perfect setting for a pre-festival brunch.

Guests were kept well fed with a welcome spread of flaxseed tortilla chips, guac & salsa, fresh apples and spiked pink lemonade. Brunch consisted of delicious donut holes speared with custom CV picks, Patron popsicles and homemade Bloody Marys. There was a consistent desert theme throughout, with a teepee set-up in the backyard lined with tribal print rugs and a set of bows & arrows next to a checkerboard for entertaining.

The guest list included Lookbook style bloggers Noor G., Olivia Lopez, Jenny Ong, Aimee Song, Dani Song and Julie Sariñana.

Lucky were the guests of the H&M Loves Music after-party bash, for they were the first to hear of the brand’s official collaboration with Alexander Wang of Balenciaga, set to debut in November. Attendants had either received an invitation for the H&M Loves Music event or for an Alexander Wang Coachella party, but were in for a major surprise upon arrival, when they announced the exclusive partnership of the two.

DJ Jesse Marco started off the celebration with surprise performances from rapper Iggy Azalea, Just Blaze and Major Lazer (frontman Diplo was the former face of T by Alexander Wang). H&M x Alexander Wang holographic 3D glasses giveaways helped to enhance the light show and make for an amazing after-party experience, with enough confetti to last all weekend, and possibly more.

Familiar partygoers included Kate Bosworth, Katy Perry, Robert Pattinson, the Haim sisters and fellow Lookbooker Chanelle L.

This year’s annual Desert Gold Weekender at the Ace Hotel was held in conjunction with new sponsor Marc by Marc Jacobs. The brand helped continue the hotel’s weekly party celebration with a tricked out edition of ¡Reunión!, hosted by DJ Day. Cara Events spearheaded the festivities and décor, which consisted mainly of color-blocked flags and walls that mimicked the new design of this season’s line.

Marc and The Ace kept things hip, chill and minimalist with a vintage postcard photo booth, pastel ping-pong games, big grey sun discs for shade and a color-blocked wall of sunglasses available as gifts to VIP guests.

Lookbook style bloggers Juliet Vo, Gregory Davalos, Kiara Schwartz, Jill Wallace and other guests could be found lounging at the pool, floating on an orca named Willy or enjoying delish tacos and cool drinks from the pink lemonade stand.
