As style influencers are now always on the move, trends are becoming more concise and multi-functional now than ever before. The growth spurt of increasingly versatile clothing has begun to hit its peak during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris this month, and we’re sure it will continue well into the New Year. Thanks to blogger-photographers Jalan and Jibril of Durimel, we’ve gotten the opportunity to get immersed into the Parisian menswear street style scene. Here, versatility is king and androgynous style, his queen.
By simple observation, the tension between sportswear and formalwear seems to be alive and well. There was a robust mix of the mesh- and neoprene- crowd, chilling out in jogger and harem trousers, as much as there were the coteries of fitted suits and cigarette pants.
And to tie it all together, the undercurrent of punk-rock youth culture with a slightly rebellious aside – leather bombers, trench coats, colorful shades and army colors of tan and olive in ironic floral patterns. Of course, this doesn’t mean we’ve given up our favorite touches of the upscale (shoes and sneaks will always be pristine, from the clean loafers to the collectors kicks, and the ever-iconic Chanel graffiti backpack spotted by the Durimel brothers).
So before you pack up your bags again, check out Jalan and Jibril’s streetsnaps below to see just what jetsetters from all around the world decided to travel in – and show off – in Paris that week!
