BEACH BUNNY & THE BLONDS | 1960s BOMBSHELL

Inspired by 60’s icons Brigitte Bardot and Jane Fonda, this sexy, yet slightly innocent retro look is defined by glowing skin, bold brows, pouty lips and colorful doe-eyes. This Beach Bunnies x The Blonds look is effortless yet ultra-feminine and glamorous!

Ingredients
Recipe

Prime and smooth skin with Skin Perfection Gel and add cc crème spf 30 for flawless, even complexion. Spot treat any blemishes with concealer (which can double as a matte canvas for the lips). Keep your pouts hydrated and kissable with a natural-looking tint from Lip Per-fékt. Then sweep on Cheek Perfection Gel in Bronze and Peach colors for contoured cheeks and a flirtatious flush. For that full-lash, doe-eyed look, groom and define brows and lashes with Lash Perfection Gel. You can complete the look with streak-free tanning lotion like Instant Body Airbrush to get that bronze, glowing, imperfection-free skin. To enhance with a subtle glow, apply Body Perfection Gel in Tan and Brilliant after or instead. Put on the final touches with an extra voluminous blow-dry. The stylists here used TRESemmé products to achieve the models' 70s bombshell blowout look.

CLOVER CANYON | SUBTLE BEACH WAVES

Clover Canyon’s debut Resort 2015 collection was inspired by the tropics, native culture and the Latin sensuality of South America. For this brand, BLO Blow Dry Bar Midtown Miami wanted to capture that essence with a natural loose wave, texturized by the salty beach air. Make up artist Sarah Lucero channeled a “sun-kissed siren” look with clean skin and bright tangerine lips.

Ingredients

Recipe

Begin by adding some texture to dry hair with UNITE's Beach Day spray and the new UNITE's Beach Day Texturiza spray. Then, curl the hair with a wand to create mermaid waves. You can then brush it out to loosen the curl and bring it to a more natural look. Blend Stila Color Balm Lipsticks in Avery and Valentina onto your pucker for that soft yet stained and slightly glossy effect. Swipe a melt-proof pigment on top to prevent your cover-up from going glacier on hot summer days.

6 SHORE ROAD | MOHAWK BRAIDS

When asked to partner with 6 Shore Road for its debut swimwear collection, BLO Blow Dry Bar Midtown Miami owners Sandi and Kailey Magder decided to derive their inspiration from the country of Nepal. “Braids are common with Nepalese women and the mohawk braid was meant to convey a strong, confident warrior woman,” explains Sandi.

Ingredients
Recipe

To start off, section the hair into well-defined parts on each side of the head. Then slick it down using a combination of UNITE's Session Max Hairspray, Shina Mist and Tricky Lite Spray. Then secure each section with tiny rubber bands to keep the hair in place. Braid the top of the hair with an overhand braid (similar to a thick cornrow) and connect the sides to the center braid by braiding them in at the nape of the neck. Continue to the ends and then flip it around. Wrap and tuck underneath and secure with bobby pins.

L*SPACE BY MONICA WISE | WET LOOK

L*SPACE by Monica Wise worked with Jonathon Powell, lead stylist for Jonathan Product to create the perfect sleek and sexy fresh-from-the-water “wet look” and dewy glow to accompany the designer’s ocean-inspired The Water is Waiting runway.

Ingredients
Recipe

Powell integrated Hydracurls, a new division of curl retention technology, to ensure a lasting hairstyle. To complete the look, Sarah Lucero moistened the models with waterproof liquid eyeliner, convertible color and lip glaze from Stila Cosmetics. Flash Tattoos in scale-like patterns helped enhance the theme of models as mermaids, freshly emerging from the water.

MARA HOFFMAN | POPS OF COLOR

Mara Hoffman’s girls were all about sporting the epic look of the Guatemalan Amazon, with oversized palm leaves attached to their braids and sweeps of color and neon across a fresh face.

Ingredients

Recipe

Models’ voluminous locks were styled with Catwalk by TIGI products by Creative Director Nick Irwin. This look is ideal for those with long, thick locks. After parting hair down the middle, he used a large-barrel curling iron for soft waves, brushing them out for a flossy effect. He then gathered hair at the nape of the neck and braided the bottom 3 inches, either in one single plait or two mini pigtails, wrapping a palm leaf on each one at the ends. The fresh-faced look was completed with a swipe of color in emerald and electric blues, with jewelry by Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer.

Recipe

Indah’s Tribal Safari theme was full of teased-out tresses and jungle influences, from African tribal prints to zebra and tiger. Mint colored shadow added a pop of color while models showed off exotic body chains by gypsy chic jewelry line Haati Chai.

FORD ARTISTS BEAUTY SUITE | WAVY SIDE PART

Another favorite of the week were the custom hairstyles from the FORD Artists Beauty Suite aboard the Venetian Lady yacht in the Fontainebleau Marina, featuring make-up artist Christina Silvia (she came highly recommended as both a talented artist and hilarious confidante) and hair stylist Xavier Soto (who can work magic on just about any kind of hair).

Ingredients

Recipe

Christina used neutrals, taupe and rose from Tarte Cosmetics for a fresh, romantic look, and LipSurgence lip gloss in Blushing Bride. The color adds a pretty pink shine without looking overdone. They used an airbrush machine and Kinara Skin Care's weightless moisturizer for smooth, even skin that lasted all day. Meanwhile, Xavier used a large circle brush and a ton of hairs pray to blowdry a deep side part gracefully flowing into loose curls, reminiscent of the 40’s era.
