The demand for California Cool has been skyrocketing for the past few years and Lovers + Friends – clothier of the kind of girl who knows what she wants and goes after it – is no exception. This is the mantra of the LA-based clothing and denim brand, made with the early morning risers and late night explorers of the world in mind.

After a springtime collaboration with Lua P. of Le Happy, Daniela Ramirez of Nany's Klozet and Jessica R. of Hapa Time, we're happy to share a personal behind-the-scenes tour of the Lovers & Friends studio and a few thoughtful quotes – including a run-down of their favorite outfits, desktop essentials and their upcoming SS '15 collection – from the hard-working, hard-playing team members themselves!

We are super impressed with Raissa Gerona here – she not only founded Lovers & Friends, but owns a Bar Method studio where she teaches classes 6 times a week with two other trainers.

Meet Breanna Warner, Marketing Manager for Lovers & Friends, as she talks to us about her #OOTD!

“I grew up on a ranch in Northern California and feel that my country roots always come out in my style - laid back but refined with some western flare. Some days I explore with mixed prints and other days I just love me a crisp, white button down and blue jeans. I love the On the Dock Overalls paired with the Say It Isn't So Crop Top. Stripes are my weakness! Also, the Back in Love Dress Dress, it's the perfect flowy LBD for summer!"

“The Lovers + Friends office is near the Arts District in Downtown LA and is inspired by the laid back vibes and bright landscape of Los Angeles. The big windows in our space provide plenty of natural light, so it never feels like we’re stuck inside all day. We call the lounge area (with the vintage couch, colorful throw pillows and lush carpet) our ‘inspiration station.’ It’s a place where we can put our minds together and spark creativity for unique marketing plans and designs for upcoming collections.” – Glori Reantaso, Marketing Coordinator

“For me inspiration can come from anywhere. I feel like the best inspiration finds me organically, like when I’m traveling or visiting a museum. But when I am on the search for particular inspiration on my own, I love to check out runway collections and street style blogs.” – Aimee Santos, Designer

“Some of the tools that I cannot live without that get me through a workday include programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, along with my Wacom tablet. They are necessary for drawing CADs, creating seasonal lineguides and putting together mood boards. I also cannot be without my sketchbook. I use it throughout the day for drawing new ideas and adding any inspiration I’ve collected.” – Aimee Santos, Designer

“One of our newest product expansions is the development of a new denim line, which comes in a wide range of colors – and is all handmade locally.”

“My top 5 desktop essentials are (1) Google Chrome. Email is key to act as liaison to accounts and Place Showroom, (2) AIMS (Apparel Information Management Systems), letting me know what’s going in and out of our warehouse, (3) Calendar. I have deadlines to meet! (4) Excel, to organize any and all of my accounting needs and (5) Spotify. #duh, good tunes to get through a busy work day!” – Angelia Gerona, Office Manager (Raissa’s sister)

“We are in the final stages of designing Summer ’15. For this collection, we’re taking you on a getaway to a tropical and gorgeous destination. Get ready for some beautiful embroideries, playful and vibrant prints, and intricate macramé!” – Aimee Santos, Designer

“The best advice I’ve ever received is – Eat Well, Travel Often.” – Andrea Fong, Director of Production Operations.
