It's rather cliche, but I (like the rest of the world) hate writing about myself.
When I was twelve, I decided I wanted to make clothes. I thought it would be easy. Straight away, I began sketching very square, very disappointing dresses on my binder. Since then, I have been taking classes & teaching myself tricks of the trade. This, of course, is not limited to boxy dresses -- I went to school for Apparel Merchandising, and spent my evenings working on my own designs, altering other people's designs, & learning about the industry.
I'm a recent NYC transplant, though much of my heart is still in the South. I am eager to learn more, do more, and see more. Always inspired by literature, art, & style as self-expression.
On the verge of my twenty-somethings, I started writing under the title "A Proper Fool," as a way to marry my need to rant with my love for writing and my eye for fashion. These days, I am working towards starting my career, with this quote always on my mind:
my great mistake, the fault for which i can't forgive myself, is that one day i ceased my obstinate pursuit of my own individuality – oscar wilde
