I have been a big fan of current fashion trends since the 80's, although my personal style definitely doesn't show it. My sister worked in the industry for a long time, and I always enjoyed visiting her at Conde-Nast in NYC. I am an avid digital photographer, and I spend most of my weekends shooting people in medieval attire, which explains why I am wearing a coronet, and viking tunics.
Generally a jolly fellow, Joel is a digital media enthusiast with significant ties into the world of Microsoft. The rumors about his frequent visits to the Microsoft orbital space platform are greatly exagerated, or out and out lies. Joel holds both BFA and MFA degrees in Sound Design for Theater, Film & Television, and is very active in the user's group communities of Los Angeles and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Currently, Joel is a Video Content Operations Technical Program Manager for Intel Media, having recently worked for Netflix and Microsoft, working on the IPTV (now officially known as "Microsoft Mediaroom") project out of the Silicon Valley Campus for the last 6 years. Always a spiritual person, Joel is also an Ordained Druid Minister or "Druid of the Fellowship" as we would call it in our tradition. More info at fodla.org. Joel is the founder of FoDLA Grove of the Bay in Fremont.
Joel shares his life with his wife Kasey and two fine cats, Kili and Neema, who often counsel him to roll more on the ground, scratch their chins frequently, and to take more naps.
