We're partnering up with PROJECT, the world's preeminent fashion trade event, for a special competition in preparation for the upcoming shows in Las Vegas on Feb. 13, 14, 15! We're happy to finally announce the winners from our American Apparel x SPOOKBOOK.nu DIY Halloween Contest!
The response for this year's contest was absolutely insane. We received over 1000 entries this year, chock full of awe-inspiring, do-it-yourself creativity. We asked: If you could travel anywhere this summer where would you go and why?
Winning responses:
To be able to travel anywhere in the world would be an unbelievably fantastic opportunity. After considering a definitively chic and fashionable Parisian visit to experience taking in the iconic Eiffel Tower, an adventurous Italian retreat (surely concentrated on its amazing food and architectural, historic buildings), or a cool stroll through London's hipster alleyways, I would cast aside these options and decide graciously to visit the mountains and gorgeous landscapes of Peru. My mother is Peruvian, and she has not seen her home in just about thirty years. I would surely take her with me, or the deal is off. The trip would provide me with a newfound understanding of my heritage and roots. Not only is Peru notable in its picturesque rolling, lush green hills and alpine views, but also in the permeance of color throughout the traditional clothing and handmade artifacts. This would be a trip to remember and a pivotal life altering whirl, and with my mother by my side to experience it all, it could very well be one of the best trips of my life. If I could go anywhere this summer, I would go back to my childhood home. Every summer until my dad passed away was spent there, barbecue-ing, gardening, swimming, and our father-daughter picnics every fathers day were the best.
