It's finally Friday and I usually try to pick something a little more light-hearted to wear as I get ready to head into the weekend. Express had a sale on their skirts a few weeks ago, where everything was Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. I was suckered in by the deal and picked up a bandage skirt (OOTD here) as well as a flirty little scalloped mesh skirt. And while I can't fit into any of the jeans at Express, their skirts are usually very flattering and fit me just right.

The scalloped layers of the skirt here are all cut out of a mesh fabric, giving the entire skirt a very light fairy-like quality. I wanted to wear layers today as I feel like it's the classic fall transition look, but highs were in the 80s! The cardigans were not going to be able to make an appearance. Instead, I just chose this layered skirt. I paired it with a simple blue-grey shirt and some black ballet flats. When I wear a fancier skirt, I generally like to pair it with flats to dress it down. Since I'm so short to begin with, wearing flats adds in bit of cuteness to the look as well. ^_^
