This was a very fun day. I attended the highly aniticipted launch of CVS's new collection for Heather Miss Grey(which was amazing by the way). I was glad to see a lot of fierce fashyon peeps in full force. Afterwards I got to go clubbing with all of my close friends (which rarely happens because of our conflicting busy schedules. So it was a first and hopefully not the last. Cheers to my Super O Gang:)!!!!
Hope you guys were out with us partying too!!!:) Cheers to you all!!!! Why not lets make a huge lookbook friendship celebration!!!!!:)
To Sean, Ben, Thallisson, and Harley!!!:)
With the outift:
I love wearing earthy tones as much as all black looks or full colored ones. What excited me in this look were the different shades of brown that complemented each other. Though very earthy it reminded me more of butterfingers, chocolates and caramel. yum. :)
The focal point:
I got these new pair of espadrille oxfords and it inspired me to pick mostly brown pieces from my wardrobe.
The rusty/ic jacket:
The first stop is this vintage suede trench which i had in my closet. I had this piece as long a s i could remember but never found the right moment to wear it. Finally I found the right mix of pieces to pair it with. All of a sudden I was thinking of safari, travel, hiking, adventure.
The tuxedo shirt:
Im still obsessed with wearing Greys and Browns together so this was aperfect hi/low mix to pair with the trench without looking too stiff yet has this formal flair.
The balloon pant:
I wanted to ground the brown and gray so it would look visually afloat so wearing black just does that. Plus the linear silhouette of the trench needed a contrasting shape to create an interesting juxtaposition.
The rounded frames:
Aviators wouldn't cut it for the look. It didnt finish the look like how rounded frames would. Plus the caramel shade of the frames went well with the brown story. It also reminded me of bohos and desert nomads.
the luxe fur cape/hood:
I had this grey dyed feathered cape which begged to be worn with the leathery trench. The brown and grey mix is apparent here again and i love the contrast of leather with feathers so much!!!:) When worn it looks like a feathered hood. I love the chubby plush feel of the feathers.
The marled knitted socks:
The two tone contrast was soooo perfect with the look because I wanted the shoes to be worn with socks. Plus that blue marled color peeking amidst the browns was a goood way to break the dominantly brown story. Thank God for the black pants too because it perfectly isolated the socks and the shoes visually.
The grey duffel:
The rich grey hue of this bag synchronizes with the rest of the grey colored pieces. This bag completes the voyager/ traveller feel of the look and i super love the size of the thing. You could put all your essentials in there and just go do backpacking:)
The multi braided belt as corset:
Another of my obsessions lately, the multi belts worn tightly to resemble a cinch waist belt. I used different shades of brown for that color depth and richness. so instead of wearing my usual neck adornments I chose to adorn my waist.:)
"The Beehive Mohawk":
a cross breed between a 60s beehive and a faux hawk the hair was the perfect way to complement this adventurous getup:) The intended slightly dishevelled coif gives a desert wind blown hair effect.
