Warning: This is pretty long so if you want to just read about my outfit. Skip to after the line of asterisks. :)
The internet makes it so easy for people to attack others. Probably because of the sense of invincibility anonymity brings. They throw words at you without a care in the world, as if they're just that- WORDS. I think otherwise. Words are not JUST words. They're powerful. They can move people and they can also hurt, A LOT. So here's what I have to say: when someone points a finger at you, attacks you and accuses you through whatever medium, it is better to keep quiet. I've always believed in the saying that the truth always prevails. No matter what they do, no matter how much they attack your character, integrity and even race, just keep your head high. I know it's hard to do, especially if you're not that strong. I mean I myself haven't really developed that kind of heart yet. I'm still getting there. So here's a tip, keep repeating to yourself that good things happen to good people. This is what I always do. It's such a simple line, but it somehow works for me. That and a whole lot of praying. "In God, we trust". Leave it up to HIM. When you wake up and you feel like people are out there to get you, when you feel like you're at such a low point in your life, just remember there's no way else to go from here but up. This too shall pass. Just go on with your life and surround yourself with great friends. These are all you need. They're the solid foundation you need when you feel a big one coming.
This is how you fight back. No petty fights. No scheming. No holding grudges. No anything. This is how I was raised by my parents.
You might be wondering why the sudden post like this. Let's just say that when it comes to my moral character and integrity, I don't take things lightly. I was raised by my parents well. If my morals are getting attacked, it feels to me that they're also attacking my entire family as well, especially my parents. Let me just say this. My parents raised me well, taught me good from bad, to keep my feet on the ground, to treat everyone equally and to never take advantage of people. My parents are not spoiled rich kids from the getgo. They worked their way up. They're honest and hardworking people who got to where they are because they worked hard and deserved it. And they never let us forget that. All my life they've worked hard in instilling good morals and strong values in their children and I'm proud to say they've been successful with that too. I think I've said enough. No need to enumerate good deeds or whatever. No need for that. I just had to let it all out.
Whew, that was long! Glad to get that out of my chest. On to my outfit (and what you really came here for):
check out my new favorite midi! If you got a chance to grab a copy of Chalk Magazine's March issue, I mentioned midi skirts there and how I think it's about time to shine the spotlight on them. They're amazing! I love the instant feminine and old school touch midis bring. The one I'm wearing is from WAGW (wagw.multiply.com). It's actually more blush than peach but my camera couldn't quite capture the right color. How I wish this skirt comes in more colors though! I swear I'd buy all of them. It's perfect! The sheer top is from H&M. Sheer tops are genius. You're covered up but not so much. I like how it adds sexiness without looking vulgar. The shoes are my latest purchases from Topshop. I've been looking for nude pumps for the LONGEST time and these are perfect!!!! They remind me so much of YSL. :) The bag is a recent purchase from Mulberry, Hong Kong. Mom and I bought it to cheer my sister up because she couldn't come with us. Pretty sure it made her feel better. (Dapat lang!) Topped the look off with a scarf from WAGW again. It was a gift from our trip to Cebu. I was going for a little 50s vintage kind of vibe so I hope you can forgive my sloppy knotting. I think I did that in 30 seconds. I was in such a hurry I had no time to tie the knot properly.
That's it! I want to blab some more but I'm afraid this post might turn into a novel and I'm sure you guys don't want that. :)
