Because i love ornate, detailed things and one inspiration is never good enough, I got to play with several. I haven't been to any fash events lately and I wanted to really dress up.
The jewelled tunic is actually a bodycon 80s dress which I had like for years but I never got to bring it out till now. I remembered when i bought it, I couldn't wear it because it is a bodycon dress. enough said. So, I deconstructed the dress by removing the sleeves and slitting the side seams. So from a dress it became like a rectangular sheath. The front looked like medieval armor especially when I belted it at the hip. The back glides in the when you walk like a mini fabric train. Love!
The rubber embossed patterns of the belt coincidentally has the same diamond shapes as the crystals.
I layered the jewelled tunic over a buttoned down shirt which coincidentally is also in tunic length. Love the repetition.
The kimono was my next layering piece. I love how it adds dimension to the look and a contrast in mood.
I used a structured bag instead of a soft clutch because the kimono was already loose and languid and I needed something rigid.
I added cuffs and an antique brass necklace with crystals to complete the look.

Everything in this look is juxtaposing each other which I really love.

One thing worth noting is that I'm embracing this renewed interest in having my mustache and beard and grown thicker. I had it bleached as well to complement the color of my hair. I like the contrast of this masculine detailing on my face with that of my androgynous choice of clothing.

Oh you courtly prince you. Have you seen Moyoco Anno's Sakuran? It really invokes the feel of the imagery. In the first image with the almost Henry VIII puffing and gathering of the sleeve combined with the oriental tapestry like print and that cheeky medieval patterning with the 80s gemstones! I swear no one puts it together like you do,you brighten the world merely with your presence.

And oops sorry for the comment flood,I am so behind with all the looks that I couldn't help it! :P
Andre Judd

Previously I got side tracked from commenting on this look of yours, but I keep coming back for a glance. It is one of my very best favorites!!! I have a lot of asian persuasion in my lifestyle and have traveled in asia, yet my own ancestral roots are in western europe. This outfit is glorious in your blending of styles and culture! My hat is off to you! No one but you, can do this the way you do!!!

Albeit I could not walk in your shoes. I have not the guts that you do! It takes different kinds of people to make life interesting and we all should embrace these differences as the spices that save us from a bland existence. My sincere compliments. I admire the courage, your originality, taste & eye for progression!
My friend, I like to look at some of the things you do and try to draw some small flair from them.
Andre Judd
:) thank you my friend:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
