found this see by chloé top in a little boutique in a big city south of where i live. with its original two hundred dollar price tag, i pretty much pounced on it when i saw the sale price. thirty dollars. the light material, cut in front, and slight drop-back make it perfect for summer.
the shorts were given to me by a friend in the form of ugly, pleather granny-pants. we hoped i might be able to do something with them, but i just tried not to think about them for a while. they sat in my closet for a few years before i chopped them up into high-waisted shorts. they're actually light enough to be a summer staple.
compiling this look was one of my strong points because what i enjoy most is mixing the dark with the light, the severe with the innocent. the flutter of the top and the harshness of my hair and the shorts balanced out rather well, while my shoes blended in and simply lengthened my legs without being loud and distracting.
