Back in college my professor in psychology taught us about Tabula rasa. The term in Latin equates to the English "blank slate" (or more accurately, "erased slate"). Tabula rasa is the epistemological theory that individuals are born without built-in mental content and that their knowledge comes from experience and perception.
In sci fi tv series, Tabula rasa is applied when someone tries to have his or her memory erased or wiped out. In some aspect that capbility to erase a memory and begin anew is somewhat interesting because it allows you to live a new life devoid of the pains that your previous life has brought. I wish it were that easy. I wish there was a mental device availbale in the supermarket to erase our painful memories and for some their whole life.
This look is an extension of that belief inspired by Phoebe Philo's sense of minimalism for Céline. I wanted something clean, minimal and pure. Aligning this look was the use of tribal or pure formed accessories because somehow the word Tabula rasa sounds somewhat ethnic/tribal or going back to basics. Call me silly on that one but i was playing on whim.
