I bought this t shirt years ago from a vintage store. Not only was I amazed at the richness of the colors, the hand beaded detailing, but also by the printing technique used. As far as i know this technique would be really expensive to make back then because it will require laborious handpainting work. But if it were handpainting it cant be this precise. There would be some sort of unevenness or paint bleeding underneath the shirt( but if i check the reverse side its still white) . So handpainting couldn't be the process used. Then i thought of screen print. But with all those colors converging there would be imperfections on the surface. So its still not the right tehcnique. When i wore the shirt artist friends asked me where I got it. they were more impressed when i told them its vintage. I'll forever treasure this shirt because it is so unique it defies art and technology.

I never got to wear this t shirt during the time when I bought it because I thought to myself I cant wear it if it doesnt pair with the right accessory or trousers.....Fastforward to 2011 I acquired pieces slowly from here and there. When I saw this shirt again from my clothing storage I knew I have a color and look story to do. I was thrilled. the bright yellows, the intense oranges, the soft aqua blues and the lime greens were echoing on the pieces. So finally I knew then that this was its moment to shine.

About the look:
The mood of the look is resort: the vibrant color palette, the soft layers. Its a synthesis of surfer wear, biker meets country, abstract art and 80s graffiti, and laid back lifestyle.

"Born to Be Wild" is a rock song written by Mars Bonfire and made famous by the Canadian-American rock band Steppenwolf. It is often used in popular culture to denote a biker appearance or attitude.
