The #1 source for fashion inspiration from real people around the world.
Another 90s and thrifted apparel theme. Let’s break it down.
Hat - Chicago Bulls New Era Snapback. All right I am a huge fan of the BULLS but not so much of the new era’s snapbacks but I had to get it…you just can’t pass the clean look of this hat. Plus it was only 25 bucks compare to the original or TISA’s overrated version.
Bowtie - Faded red colour bowtie from American Apparel. I believe this was 18 bucks, I bought last year when the bow ties were blowing up….I was originally going to get the regular red version but I fell in love with this one…the colour stands out more.
Shirt - Ralph Lauren oxford shirt. I am a petite guy, 5’7 and 128 lbs so if I want something fit, I would get it tailored or shop at the kids section. I got the shirt from Ann’s Closet thrift shop last year along with a pink shirt variation. A favourite shirt, no doubt about it.
Shorts - Banana Republic corduroys. Originally pants I decided to cut them into shorts. It was a bit baggy and I already had another pair of mustard corduroys from Uniqlo. All summer long I’ve been cutting my baggier pants and jeans into shorts so I can finally put ‘em to use.
Socks - 80s gym socks from Journeys. Yes! I bought a bundle of ‘em and I’ve always wanted to incorporate socks into my daily outfits and this was a perfect example. I decide not to wear it knee high, Tyler style and just kept it rolled up on the ankle to give it the 90s vibe. Look at Will Smith’s style on the Fresh Prince for a reference.
Shoes - Air Jordan 5. Yes, I know…how did I get a 300 dollar shoe at a thrift store…all I can is luck. We’ve been getting Jordans….sometimes the best condition, sometimes mediocre. This was in okay shape and I just decided to put new laces and clean it up a bit. I’m not a sneakerhead but I love the 5’s.
Final tally = 60 dollars.
