Apparel Breakdown (Thrift Store Edition III)
A casual outfit for breezy summer day in Central Park, NY. Another example of a great outfit within reasonable price. Everything thrifted but the vintage glasses, messenger bag and shoes. Let’s break it down.
Hat - You can never go wrong with newspaper boy caps because with the right ensemble the hat can go a long way. With fedora hats and snapback caps ruling the summer time this year….stand out and rock the newspaper boy cap with class. Cost $3.00
Sunglasses - These are vintage Louis Vuitton glasses from my mom so this is basically free. You guys should check out and ask your parents for some of their old belongings they don’t wear anymore because chances are they are going to get popular again. Cost $$$ Free.
Tie - This is actually a Ralph Lauren neck tie I got from a goodwill store 5 years ago for 2 bucks turned into a bowtie! Check out my new Denny Taught Me youtube video this sunday and tune in to see how I turn a neck tie into a bowtie! Classic. Cost $2.00
Shirt - A simple light pink dress shirt from J.Crew I got from Ann’s Closet Thrift Shop. It was a bit too big that’s why I wore a jacket over it and tucked it in. Yup, I try and improvise if I really like the shirt and it’s too big. You should too, put a jacket over it and tuck it in or for you women….you can leave it untucked and loose….it’s a popular trend to wear big dress shirts and just putting a belt around the waist area. Cost $5.00
Jacket - A light denim Old Navy jacket that is also thrifted. You can see that it’s quite fit on me because it’s actually a women’s jacket! I am very petite so it kinda goes well with my body, no one can tell until I tell them. Cost $7.00
Jeans - BDG jeans that is also thrifted. I used to be scared to rock colored jeans but after seeing ads for Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger…I just had to do it. The preppy style is the best way to rock red jeans. Roll ‘em up and pair em with nice loafers and you are good to go! Cost $5.00
Shoes - This is actually the most expensive thing here! And it’s still cheap! $40.00 boat shoes inspired by Vans. It’s comfortable, casual and cool. Cost $40.00
Final Tally $63.00
