YABBA DABBA DOO!!!!!!!!!!:)

I might have outgrown certain things from my childhood but certainly not my love for cartoons. It might be embarrassing for some people to admit it but I am proud to say that i still watch it. I guess my inclination for the arts is the reason why I love watching them because I draw stuff myself. Though nowadays I don't draw cartoon characters anymore but mostly technical drawings for clothing and accessories. On weekends when Im at home I like to watch cartoons to de-stress. I guess its my inner child wanting a world filled with fantasy and make believe. Because we live in an imperfect world, I try to make beautiful things so that this world, this reality we live in, would somehow be beautiful too.

"The Flintstones is an animated, prime-time American television sitcom that ran from September 30, 1960 to April 1, 1966, on ABC. Produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, The Flintstones was about a working class Stone Age man's life with his family and his next-door neighbor and best friend. It has since been re-released on both DVD and VHS. The show celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 30, 2010.

The show's popularity rested heavily on its juxtaposition of modern everyday concerns in the Stone Age setting. It has been announced that Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy, American Dad! and The Cleveland Show) will produce a revival of The Flintstones for the Fox network. Development is set to begin in fall 2011 and the first episode is scheduled to air in 2013."
- excerpts from Wikipedia

The Flinstones might not be known to the kids today but it was a popular cartoon series from the U.S. in the 1960s. Here in the Philippines during the late 80s, the series was aired in one channel. Despite the 60s style of animation it was still cool to watch it because the plotline features a family set in the dinosaur era but they have "modern"equipments helping them out in their daily lives. Plus the look of the characters are so iconic because they wore loincloths (pelts) but looked so chic.

about the look:
My look is a cross between Fred Flintstone and Wilma Flinstone:)
The idea came when I saw this hole-y shirt from Bo Parcon's spring summer 2011 colelction. I immediately thought of pairing it with my chunky resin with leather neckpieces to have that ORGANIC TRIBAL look. Adding to the kitschy interpretation are a pair of handmade tiered eyeglasses that look like carved rocks custom made by Enrico Carado (inspired from his Fall Winter 2011 collection).
The bag came naturally with the look as circles and cruves were the dominant theme for the look. Cool thing to note the bag is of faux lizard so it reminds me of dinosaur/reptile skins used by the Flintstones as their accessories.

its as if all the pieces were made to order for this idea.
this is so unique

ahhh: that's a SHIRT, not a onepiece with legholes...

the wrinkles in the button shirt made me think there was a sewn textural, like.. the bottom of a turtle.
(this reminds me of a turtle..a business turtle.)

you interpret so clearly and yet so interestingly
