I was watching Madonna's documentary "LEt me Tell You A Secret", a behind the scenes look at her Reinvention Tour, and there was a scene there where she tackled divisiveness among society by letting her dancers/actors/performance artists symbolically take off their 'uniforms', uniforms which represented cultural division. The act of taking the clothes removed all associations with the symbols/culture/religion they represented and it allowed the performers to be unified as a whole, as one human race. That is so cool. A world that is ruled by peace, and love. That is the future I wish to be in.
About the look:
Aside from the metallic accents and hints of futurism in my look (inspired by
Metropolis, a 1927 German expressionist film in the science-fiction genre directed by Fritz Lang) I wanted to do a look that blurs distinctions. Is it modern or futuristic? is it masculine or feminine? Is it fashion or art? My goal is neither of those opposites but an amalgation of everything. One whole. a unified look.
