A lot of the pieces Im wearing have a deep rich cultural/religious history which I'd like to share. Though initially what drew me to these acquire these pieces were its rich patterns and color but eventuallly I tried to understand how paisley and hamsa came about.

Paisley-Resembling a twisted teardrop, the kidney-shaped paisley is Iranian and Indian in origin, but its western name derives from the town of Paisley, in central Scotland.[3]wn as boteh jegheh and it has been used in Iran since the Sassanid Dynasty.
Some design scholars call the distinctive shape boteh and believe it is the convergence of a stylized floral spray and a cypress tree: a Zoroastrian symbol of life and eternity.(

The hamsa (Arabic: خمسة‎ khamsah, also romanized khamsa, meaning lit. "five") is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East and North Africa, and commonly used in jewellery and wall hangings. Depicting the open right hand, an image recognized and used as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history, the hamsa provides superstitious defense against the evil eye. (

Though I dont believe in superstitions the idea that these pieces represent:positivity, well being, and protection are major plus points for me...especially now that im trying to get well from my sickness:) I just need lots of good vibes:)!!!!!!

I must admit that I didn't think Paisley was ever to make a come back! But, you are a smart master of putting different elements of fashion including the past and present together Andre. I can really appreciate your intelligence and willingness to background check your information! Many people don't even know what Zoroastrianism is. I am an ancient history buff at times and found the history of Paisley fascinating! I looked into it leading me into Azerbaijan culture and the fact that this was a sewn or embroidered design requiring developed techniques to produce and found it all quite interesting!

I do hope that you personally are feeling better soon!
