The Snow Queen (Danish: Sneedronningen) is a fairy tale by author Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875). The tale was first published in 1845, and centers on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by a little boy and girl, Kai and Gerda.

Just recently Fox channel showed the three part series. I fell in love with the character of Bridget Fonda playing the role of the Snow Queen. She was gorgeous. I cant believe I only saw the series few days ago considering it was released last 2002. When I was younger I fell in love with the aesthetics, the beauty/idea of crystals, ice, and the amazing world of ice and snow. Eventually when I grew up, the philosophical side of the story started to inspire me too.
Much like the characters of Gerda and Kai, I see myself in both of them. Where Gerda has love, passion, perseverance (the positivity of life) there is also Kai with the anger, disillusionment, and hate (negativity of life). These two opposing forces continuously battle within us. In the end we must choose which one should win.

About the look:
No ice or fur involved here. The only thing I took inspiration from the series would be the use of white representing snow. Since white is hard to capture in photos I decided to add varying shades of blue to the look. For me these blues remind me of water and ice.
