I had this dress made when I was in Gambia a few years ago. I was at the market in Sengambia and there were all these lovely fabrics and the lady in the shop said that she could make one into a dress for me and so I picked a fabric and that's what she did!

This pictures was taken in August (2011) in Barbados by the taxi driver that was giving us a tour of the island.

Big thankyou to my Lookbook buddy Miss Diane A for inspiring me to post a picture today. Make sure you check out her profile, she has some great looks!

I love this! I have been to Africa and I love it passionately :)
Tanya W
Aw thanks Alycia! Which countries have you been too? x
Alycia Renee
I have been to Zimbabwe and Johannesburg :)

Africa is such a huge place and it's so varied. I've been to South Africa also, as well as North and West. I hope to travel to each country in Africa one day. There is a great free music festival in Morocco every June which I would definitely recommend checking out. I just booked flights and found a cheap place to stay when I got there.

It would be great to live there - me and my Hubby are hoping to live in Senegal for a bit, West Africa. There's a photojournalist on Facebook who does amazing work in Africa and Afghanistan, she is based in Kenya and her pictures highlight issues each place faces such as poverty, river blindness etc. She's definitely worth checking out:

wow thank you so much for showing me that link... her pictures are painfully beautiful but what she is doing is pretty much exactly what I hope to do someday. I have such a heart for Africa, and I know that God wants me there... I'm just having a hard time being patient! ha Do you have family or anyone there?
Tanya W
I know! I love her work - I'd love to do something similar myself. I don't have any family there, just a few friends I've picked up along the way.

Keep me posted on your stuff and try and take a few pics - would love to see them.

You have a great adventure ahead of you and God willing, you'll be there in no time. X x
Alycia Renee
You are lovely and I am equally super excited to see where God will take you in these coming years :)
