Homemade siren costume. I had a lot of fun making this one! My boyfriend accompanied me as my drowned pirate. ;)
Hair piece: gathered branches from my backyard and spray painted them gold and red to look like coral; hot glued a real dried starfish and pearls for accents
Shell top: drilled holes in two lion's paw seashells (from Michael's craftstore) and attached them to an old brown lace bra I was ready to throw out; added craft moss and clippings from the red spray painted branches along the top, and glued pearls to the shells for accents
Skirt wrap: bought about a yard of fabric (from Yardage Town) and wrapped it around my body, stitching the folds in place; attached a wire and mesh tail underneath the bottom of the skirt
Makeup: cheap blue eyeshadow used to color face, red eyeliner on inner eyelids and lips, liquid latex brushed with blue eyeshadow for shoulder scales, sequins around my face stuck on with spirit gum, yellow eagle contact lenses
