It was my birthday and birthdays are usually a big to do for me, but this year I felt the need to play it down...way down because well I'm getting older! But, my darling BF4LIFE took me to lunch since I had nothing on the agenda and child it was everything! She reminded me why aging ain't all that bad and we celebrated with quality time while dining over finger licking food and savoring the chattery of our past, present and future life (oh, and we threw some gossip + BS in the mix for spice)! I don't have a complex with aging, but it does become a bit depressing if the focus is on the have nots instead of the haves! This birthday, though dreaded and though I wanted to zoom by it like it never happened, I was reminded of my bountiful life filled with haves! A lot happens in a year!

What I Wore?

H&M navy knit sweater
ASOS thigh high tights
Bakers shoes
Forever21 jersey dress
Vintage clip-on drop earrings

I'm enjoying mixing textures this fall. Here, I am mixing knit and jersey for a day lunch with my BFF. I've never worn thigh high tights until today, but I have been a fan for some time now. It's perfect with mini skirts that have body or with shorts that flair if you are a bit daring. The key is to balance the look with a conservative top to not come off sleazy or trashy.

Cheers!
