Ive been chatting with Sven, a dear old friend from lookbook and I told him about my plans to go to Russia next year. I need a vacation. Seriously with me being sick for a few months already I feel I need to recharge myself. Funny how this desire to go to Russia ended up inspiring my look. Im sure you guys have seen a matroyshka, a Russian nesting doll, which is a set of wooden dolls of decreasing size placed one inside the other. Those red cheeked hand painted girls on these wooden dolls gave me a styling idea:) Also I've been wanting to wear something old americana/western look. Coincidentally when I opened google today I saw Huck Finn inspired drawings in their logo banner. How perfect:) Achieving the look was simple and I wanted to use these intricate paisley buttons as trims which resembled "rosy cheeks". I like the idea that this look also reminded me of toys for Christmas since its only a few weeks more before that day so Im playing my part to be more festive:) Wish I smiled in this look though (for that cutesy effect).
Once in a while I usually break away from my looks and try something more experimental. Whether it be accessories, makeup, color, or silhouette. Its nice to try something different. It teaches me to be more open minded and aware of new things:)
So in hindsight, when was the last time you tried something new/different?:) And what was this new thing you experienced? Im curious to know:) care to share?:)
