To ask a true shoe lover to pick their favourite pair is like asking a mother to choose which of her children she loves best... with each pair comes a story, a memory, a laugh shared and a paycheck spent... so after painstaking deliberation I was able to pick my top three... and by top I don't mean necessarily by designer... I'm sure you agree that it's not always the label that makes a shoe special... often times the first pair of heels you skipped a meal for, whether they were $20 or $200 are your most treasured pair... well after Mr. Louboutin and the like have taken over your closet.

That is where this pair, my first contenders, come in. I walked into a nameless vintage shop and found them hidden at the back... picked them up for $50... I loved the gold leather and the fact that the translucent mesh would change colour depending on what stocking I wore them with... Little did I know that in the weeks to come... with EVERY outfit I tried on, when it came to adding shoes... these guys always won out... ALWAYS... they went with everything... jeans, pans, skirts, shorts, you name it... I have a bit of an androgynous style in that I love to incorporate menswear into my wardrobe... these shoes added the right amount of spice and femininity to any outfit I matched them with... they turned out to be my "little engine that could!"
