I love the romantic feel of my Poet Shirt* (see definition below). Like the name, it conjures images of the old world, where poets are seen scribbling masterpieces in their linen shirts with ink stained hands. I love a bit of history in my looks.
But usually this look is worn without jewelry but I found it too irresistible not to put some cascading neckpieces. Adding a bit of Victorian, Ventian, and religion context to the mix, the poet shirt transformed into an opulent look. I added a hand drawn cross in my eyebrow inspired by my rosary necklace. The title of the look is borrowed from the movie of the same name. It stars Robin Williams as English professor John Keating. The movie is about Professor Keating inspiring his students to love poetry and to seize the day. Love the positive message of this film. It makes me want to seize the day as well:)

I have missed playing with my looks as of late so I was glad to have rediscovered my poet shirt:)

*A poet shirt (also known as a poet blouse or pirate shirt) is a type of shirt made as a loose-fitting blouse with full bishop sleeves, usually decorated with large frills on the front and on the cuffs. Typically, it has a laced-up V-neck opening, designed to pull over the head, but can have a full-length opening fastened by buttons. The collar may be standing or folded over with points. Fabrics commonly used in its manufacture include linen, cotton, velvet and satin, while frills may be of the same fabric or of lace. Originally intended as a male garment, it is also worn by women today (though still interchangeably referred to as both a "shirt" and a "blouse" regardless of which gender is wearing it).

this is perfect. I love the shirt. The collar and cuffs are nice. I really like how you layered the necklaces and I'm a huge fan of crosses, so basically I just can't express how perfect this is!

We've been chanelling some "Shakespeare in Love" ourselves...love the dark approach you took, of course! Spanish Gothic. Romantic, yes, but still slick. You make everything look good.

Cheers!
