The #1 source for fashion inspiration from real people around the world.
Remember the sickness i mentioned in my last post? Well its back. Im currently staying at home getting rest. It sucks. Wish I can get out of the city to take a breather. I feel i can recover quicker with nature by my side. I know i feel so deterred by this sickness but its 2012 and im still optimistic about my health getting back on track. SO enough of this.
Onto lighter things.
I watched during the afternoon a cool docu in National Geographic about Shaolin Monks. Talk about fashion and morale inspiration! The drapey grey robes they wore were a perfect look to emulate and the way they used their chi energy(bod's natural energy) to manage pain. just wow. Wish i can be like them.
For the look I adapted the grey scheme of their robes and the prayer beads with a slight opulent twist. The grey draped t shirt resembles like a robe minus the belt sash. The asymmetry of the monk robes is achieved by the asymmetry of the sleeves. I reinforced the idea of asymmetry by wearing a button down shirt under the draped shirt with one sleeve cuffed while the other is folded and hidden. I recontextualized the look too by wearing a bit of English inspiration via my favorite wool boater.Kinda like if I were a Shaolin monk this is how ill wear my look if I lived in England:)
