Chris Ran Lin is a sartorial genius. Graduating from RMIT, he describes his graduate collection, titled Conflict and Fusion, as “knit and woven impact with 3D object and 2D pattern; tradition marries with new technology where diverse material and textures collide and fuse harmoniously, creating the new vision of modern menswear.” We first witnessed Chris’s collection during MSFW and were so amazed by his talent we thought we just witnessed something you’d see on an international runway. Everything was amazing and cohesive, he even designed shoes and man clutches that really completed each look. He went all the way. Best thing was, he was so humble about everything, considering his originality and highly advanced textile and design skills.
Anyway I’ve waited long enough to share this shoot we did with some of Chris’s work. The idea was to I love his vision and approach to textural play and other-worldly silhouettes in bold colour clashes. By the way his knitting is self-taught.
We look forward to the day Chris launches his work, his designs are of such high calibre – seriously out of this world.
