About this look

After the initial excitement of receiving this beauty in the mail 2 days ago, I realized there were some differences between this dress and the original one I've seen on other websites. For one, it's 100% silk but it doesn't feel like it..the material's sturdy, but rough. Also, the positions of the pockets were slightly different. I emailed my seller, but she insisted it was authentic and that there was bound to be differences in each dress. I'll be real mad if this is fake cause I paid $200+ for this(which is also the sale price on some websites) but I can't be sure of its authenticity.Then again, it's pretty hard to find this dress anymore, much more at such a price. All the other websites have sold out.

What do you think? Should I just return this and get a refund?

It looks great imo and the design is amazing, if you think the authenticity is going to bug you - return it. It all really depends if you'd sport something counterfeit or not. Plus, 200 on something not all silk ... that's something to think about as well.

I agree the design is amazing..I didn't suspect a thing until I read this guide about fake MJ clothes and I started checking mine.I don't think mine's made of silk, but I haven't seen the real dress in the store so I can't say for sure. Anyhow I think I'm gonna return this. :(

if you think its worth the money, even if there's doubt about its authenticity, keep it. its a pretty awesome dress. but if you dont feel good about it, return it. ebay has lots imitations that would rip you off. i get scared to buy a thing. btw, you look great in it.

thanks dear. Now I'm not sure if it's worth the money. Cause I didn't see the dress in the Marc Jacobs store previously so I can't really know for sure the exact differences. I like it a lot, but I have to say some parts of the dress were not very well manufactured. If it's real I'll definitely keep it though.

if you can find a catalogue of marc, check it just to see if its even existed. it seems like you are still hesitant, so right now, the best thing is to return it, get your money back and splurge on something else that would make at least complacent!!! :)

thank you! I love the dress too, but I don't like the feeling of owning a fake dress, even if it's cheap..maybe it's just me. If I return it, I could probably use the money and buy other stuff so it's all good!

hmmm ... It is very very pretty but I think that I would return it cause it cost so much and it is fake ... seller just hope that you won´t notice that it is fake and you would pay that BIG price... Don´t let him/her to be happy and return it ... And if it is possible buy simillar face dress in cheaper price =)

I know! $250 for a fake dress is such a ripped off cause shopbop.com were selling the authentic ones for less than that. I'm gonna return it, but I'm a little sad to part with it. In a way I can deceive everyone into believing it's real cause it looks the part, but I hate buying fake goods..even if they were really cheap. Real pity, though.

It looks good here, but I guess when you feel the dress and scrutinize the details you'll feel that it's not worth the amount of money you paid. I'm pretty sad about it actually, cause I bloody love this dress!

I sent the dress back today.. :( hopefully I can find the authentic dress someday.Yea I heard about that, even though I haven't been watching GG for sometime. Fergie wore it too.

Ah, yes I love Marc as well, and this is such a great design, and you look super adorable in it. Since you already sent it back though, I think you should just search for one way cheaper that is probably definitely counterfeit. That way you won't have to be wondering, but still have that super cute design. But that's just my opinion because I care more about the design (and I'm cheap! haha) than if a rich designer gets profit. And that's coming from an aspiring designer myself, so no hard feelings with any other designers out there, just my personal opinion. :)

I don't know, if I were to like a designer dress I would definitely buy the authentic one, cause the material's better too. If not, I usually buy the usual Topshop items or brandless clothes that I'm sure will not have counterfeits!ahh you rock your thrifted clothes.I love thrift finds,got a blazer last week for a dollar and that pretty much made my day.

Hey, nope I decided to return it cause I didn't think it was authentic..and it didn't feel good knowing I probably paid so much for a fake dress. To be honest it doesn't look fake unless you really scrutinize it. yeah I love the design a lot, esp the huge bow. Thanks!
