Been in my head, idk. Along with the usual Crowded House and so on, but I haven't listened to The Smiths in a good while, so..

The sun was out this morning so I decided to try and dress summery-y, plus I got this dress in the post and I've been dying to wear it! (I dressed in summery clothes but with two pairs of tights and a hoodie under my jacket so I wouldn't freeze... Yay England!)

(also, colours are slightly off between the two pictures, I dunno why, and I don't really fancy going to great lengths to fix it. Ah well, s'about the outfit, so yeah!)

Love your outfits Olivia, but I have to ask, is the name of this outfit a nod to Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own? I know there's a small anecdote about "Shakespeare's Sister". So awesome if that inspired your outfit! :D
Olivia Emily
Thankyou :)
Sadly no- it was just a Smiths song that's been in my head today, though I believe the title was taken from the short story, yes.
I haven't read any Virginia Woolf for years though, I always found her views interesting.. (and I think the ideas behind Shakespeare's Sister were most likely correct, especially considering the attitudes in the 16th/ 17th century. This is if I remember it correctly, does it say that if he was to have a sister of a similar intellect she would not have been successful? Something in that vein, aha)

Oh that's okay! It's a hypothetical story about how "what if Shakespeare had a sister that was just as talented as him but could never succeed because of the limits society places on women" (in that era).

As you can tell, I'm completely obsessed with literature, british literature, and Virginia Woolf!

ANYWAYS -- Keep up the fantastic looks! :D
