Hey =) hope everyone’s year is going real good so far. As the holiday season ends, things have started to pick up again – I mean, not that I got a break anyway, but in general. New year, new start, new ventures. The first is J-Dawg World is no more – it’s dead and gone! I say that in a good way, as Jesse can now reclaim his name and we’ve merged to form raww, not to be confused with my blog but it’s now the name of our new agency that’s viewable at raww.co – check it to see what it’s all about. Even more so, I’m dedicating more time to styling – first up: a winter campaign in a couple of weeks, deets to follow so keep a lookout. Also filming next week for a short film. Exciting stuff coming up.
On the topic of new, my first style shoot this year (and in a while, sorry). Wearing Anthony Capon’s A. Concept signature strong silhouettes and claw-heeled pumps from Santini. My outfit for the Portsea Polo – you can check out the set on facebook.com/rawwblog. While I embrace colour there’s just almost too much of it this summer. Usually you wear something colourful to stand out, but you end up blending in. So I find myself wearing a lot of black in summer and colour in winter. Makes sense…no? Me thinks so. The Polo saw a raging sea of colour – then there was me. I love experimenting with colour and embrace it just as much as monotones and neutrals but when it’s so obvious that an event as such would inspire everyone to wear all colourful outfits I couldn’t help but become a rebel (with a cause) and do the all black thing.
I love the combination of textures and strong shapes against soft drapes when it comes to black dressing, and Anthony does it with class, androgyny and exclusivity. Complete with my new suede platform pumps with an awesome claw-shaped heel (actually more practical than it seems) it was perfect.
Special thanks to Anthony of A.Concept and Santini for heels – much love.
