I love how the light falls on the face and clothing when this look was shot. Funny like a few minutes after shooting this look, it rained so hard. I guess the heavens understood my plight and blessed me with last minute sunshine to shoot my look. The softness of the light accentuated the dramatic cape jacket. From afar it looks like feathers or it even looks like crackling ceramic. But in reality it is pleated and painted. I love the drape and sculptural quality of the cape. It reminds me so much of Fortuny's work inspired by greek robes and Greek Classical marble sculptures. Its so organic, so artisanal, that I deliberately excluded jewelry from this look. Honestly it was kinda hard to exercise extreme minimalism. I dont know if most if you guys and girls fancy that type of clean, accessories less look. Even the shape of the cape is too fashion forward for most people. But then again, this look is a good example of practicing a new approach to styling myself. And I always push myself to try new shapes and colors. All this freedom and restraint makes you feel powerful.
