Austrian girls and boys love to wear "Tracht" which is mostly a "Dirndl" for the female and leather shorts for the male.
Of course it's not a every day look, you wear it on special occasions, some people even marry in it, like my mum.
Nowadays it's getting more and more popular, there are a lot of partys/discos where you are supposed to wear a dirndl and it really is a lot of fun.
At the moment it is "in" to wear a short one, but some years ago everyone had a long Dirndl.
You can see the differences between real and fake Dirndls. Every region has there own modell which has strikt rules about colour and so on. Mine is just a simple "Ausseer Dirndl" but there are also very complex ones.
Fake ones are mostly very kitschy, but a lot of girls fancy that.
A Dirndl consists a blouse, bodice, skirt and apron.
