I'm not in the habit of planning out my outfits ahead of time, but I do typically have a general idea of the pieces that I want to wear. On the docket for today were a floral shirt and recently rediscovered faded skinny jeans, but after a 5:00 a.m. flight yesterday morning and strangely time-warping night, everything that came into direct contact with my skin just felt wrong somehow so skinny jeans just weren't going to happen. These green pants were lying within arms reach of my bed and possessed an acceptable amount of billowy-ness, so they became the basis of today's outfit. Of course, only the most ridiculously flowy of tops would do. The pants/shirt combination ended up being everything I hoped it would be, meaning almost criminally comfortable but dressy enough to not look too awkward with heels. At least, I didn't find the addition of a little height to be uncomfortable stare-inducing. Sweat-pants wearing passerbys might disagree, but I'm pretty oblivious when it comes to that stuff.
