I really think it's about time I make a decision about my bangs. They're reaching that awkward length where they fall exactly at eye level-not to be mistaken for the chic above eye bang-mine now fall right about where my irises are, rending them perpetually itchy and constantly in the way. The bangs themselves were one of those somewhat ill informed bored-to-the-point-of-desperation decisions that kind of grew on me as I played with them in the mirror the next day-more because they hide my awkwardly short forehead than for any other reason. Anyways, they made photographing in this just a little blustery field even more challenging than it already was. Major imposing factors included not quite deceased blackberry plants, the ever slippery empty carcasses of old fireworks, and a small legion of crickets that would jump up at the most inopportune moments. There were probably a million less ankle-threatening places to shoot, but this was the only one within reasonable walking distance of the Ikea I spent the majority of my day haunting that had enough light to reveal the details of this leather vest to an acceptable degree.
With my move to California less than two weeks away, most of the clothes that have been on regular rotation for a while are packed way to deep to be pulled out on a daily basis, so this past week has been highlighted by a series of mini-miraculous discoveries of long forgotten pieces. This vest is more than a few years old, and for the past who knows how long has been hiding in between two baskets in my closet. I rescued it this morning after all of the denim in my room proved too illusive, and paired it with an off-white silk shirt that I probably should have ironed and shorts that turned out to be terrible for wading through shriveled thorny plants. At least my boots' wooden heel proved useful for plant stomping purposes.
