The 1920s is the decade in which fashion entered the modern era. It was the decade in which women first abandoned the more restricting fashions of past years and began to wear more comfortable clothes, such as shorter skirts.
Flapper dresses were characterized by a a straight waist that hid a woman's curves and which accentuated the boyish look. Women also went as far as to flatten their chests as much as possible. The way to accesorize it was wearing long string of beards or pearls, having down below the chest.
