So a couple of days ago, my friend was wearing this black t-shirt with orange bleach stains all over it. It looked really awesome, and I asked him if he’d done it himself - he hadn’t, he’d paid £35 for it! He was horrified when I looked at the label and discovered it was a t-shirt from Primark. Bleaching is so easy to do yourself and so much cheaper - plus you get something totally unique every time. I was inspired to customise this purple vest dress (Topshop, 50p at a carboot - good fit, great colour but a bit plain), put it flat out in the bath and squirted bleach in horizontal stripes across it. Left it for 3 minutes or something (you can do it for longer depending on how much you want to bleach something, but NEVER leave it, keep checking up on it or you could ruin your garment!). Then I washed it out in cold water, then chucked it into a hot wash in the machine, and result! We’re going house hunting today, and I plan to show my friend how easy it is to make something your own with a bottle of bleach.
