The #1 source for fashion inspiration from real people around the world.
on thursday & friday i went to london fashion weekend with my friend weronika . unfortunately i was met with an incredible amount of disappointment and disillusion . fashion weekEND seemed literally the bog standerd event , where the general public was given the bare minimum in terms of a show ; a number of " trend " events that paraded the catwalk with an " easy to imitate " logo attached to every gaunt model , and a ' shop ' section displaying elephantised ( on sale ) price tags that only the rich and elite with a spare £1000 or two can throw around ...
don't get me wrong i'm happy to touch and feel a bit of dolce & gabanna or vivienne westwood given the chance . but i am not prepared to succumb , no matter what size my wallet may be , to filling the ever expanding ego of a branded fashion event .
it perpetuated to me that the fashion industry is an egotistical , trend admiring ( yet with apparent ' distaste ' for trend ) machine of elitism , built to trend on those who are not worthy of being invited to the more sought after " week " event .
adding that with the shame that it is equally as beautiful in quality and content and i wish to own everything belonging to anglomania by vivienne westwood , makes me very unhappy . but i refuse to spend money on something that's price tag is expanded only by BRAND and not by quality .
