Yesterday started off with one of those freakish moments in which you suddenly convince yourself that time is going to go by a million times faster than it actually does, so at 5:00 am I was fully awake and packing gathering err...throwing random things into my suitcase for a trip to Portland. I'm about 99% sure that I brought something like three pairs of pants and...one t-shirt. Not exactly the makings of a winning wardrobe, but it's something, right?
Anyways, I'm so happy to be back home for the weekend. There's just something so reassuring about going to a coffee shop that you used to go to on a thrice daily basis-where the baristas know your name, and the ceramic cups are almost more familiar than the ones in your kitchen, and everything's absolutely perfect to the point that you just can't imagine espresso getting any better. After grabbing a much-too-early cup of coffee, I spent the day eating my favorite unavailable in L.A. foods and shopping in my favorite local stores aka giving in and spending way more than I intended on Urban Outfitters-their stuff just always feels so fresh and has that otherwise-illusive hint of distress. Buying clothing that's already partially falling apart at the seams just makes too much sense for me to say no. Tomorrow heralds my fist anticipated day of nothing but homework, so I dragging out the going to sleep process as long as possible in an attempt to fend off the morning. Night-long Sex in the City marathon? Don't mind if I do.
