The first day back in Los Angeles was strange in the way that days can only be after you've been awake for 48 hours straight and everything is becomes fuzzy and people begin to all look the same and the littlest things suddenly seem all important. Dressing for the airplane ride was a challenge, though. This denim on denim look was my best attempt to adapt to both the torrential downpour that signaled the start of my day and the 90 degree weather that greeted me when I landed. Mid-afternoon sweating was surprisingly minimal considering the long sleeves (rolled up here).
Shot these photos after officially declaring all attempts at going to class in my sleepless state useless. Automobile facilitated meandering came to an abrupt end when a fully paved road transformed into a gravel-speckled dirt path and then a construction yard. Normally when things like that happen (and they happen surprisingly often in my life), I just make a U-Turn, but the light streaming through the overgrown chain-link fence was just dreamy enough to deem the spot camera worthy. I even found it in myself to overlook the sleeping homeless man just out of the shot.
