I've planned on being Raoul Duke (of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas fame) for MONTHS. My favorite costumes are ones that have a persona to go along with them - I quoted Mr. Duke and darted my eyes all night long.
-My brother works at Dick's Sporting Goods and got me this bucket hat for $8. It was originally only $10 anyway. Raoul Duke's hat in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is green on the inside, and I knew that'd be near impossible to find, so I just painted the inside of the brim green myself.
-I found these shorts on clearance at Walmart. I bought them a size too big so they would be a happy medium between being actual girl's pants and still pulling off the vibe of the *man* I was dressing up as.
-The Hawaiian shirt came from Salvation Army. $3.50?? What a dream, because it was PERFECT.
-The cigarette filter was an easy find on amazon.com, AND it is the SAME make as Mr. Duke's filter in the movie!
-And I already owned the sunglasses, accessories, and socks myself.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I can't stop here. This is bat country.
