Vani Sue - Traditional Chiapas Dress - DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
  1. Traditional Chiapas Dress

    , in Dresses

As part of my Mexican heritage, I decided to be a "calavera" (skeleton) inspired by the "Dia de los Muertos" celebration. Dia de los Muertos is celebrated on November 2nd, and is in remembrance of the souls that have passed on.
I am dressed in a traditional Chiapas dress, which I borrowed from my grandma. I love the beautiful colors of the dress!
I had fun doing the makeup for this shoot; I watched tutorials on Youtube and checked out pictures online for inspiration.
I also took pictures dressed in a black Chiapas dress, it was really hard to choose my favorite picture. My grandma bought the black Chiapas dress in Mexico City with her father, back in the 60's.
