Here it is: my entry to Spookbook contest! When I was thinking about what I wanted to be I immediatly thought of a Disney villan... they are still the scariest things ever, don't you think?!

After some research job - aka looking though my old VCR tapes - I decided to go with Ursula from The Little Mermaid. I am nowhere near as fat as her, so I decided to go with an Ursula still in her teen years: still looking slim and with black hair instead of white... can I get away with that? Ahah, I hope so!

This costume is actually quite easy to make:
For the skirt just buy a couple of meters of fabric and stitch it on the waist with elastic line to make it ajustable. Then attach some sneaker laces to it to make it look like Ursula's tentacles.
As a top I wore a bathing suit I got in H&M because the waves in the bustier really remind me of marine creatures... But any black top will do.
For the wig, I styled a long black wig I had in the house from last year's Carnival. Just separate the hair in two, knot a scarf to each piece and then twist them to give this scarf-hair-scarf look. Then pin it upwards as you wish.
To make the necklaces I just beaded a bunch of little seashells for the upper one and a big one for the lower one, which is supposed to contain Ariel's voice in it!
As for the make-up, which really is the key to this look, I painted myself with purple paint (kind of ran out of it when I got to the arms, but it's ok!) to mimic Ursula's skin colour. For the face make up, fake raised browns, blue eyes and red lipstick. If you want to be really true to original you can also paint your nails red, as Ursula. I just think it adds a nice touch.

So... Tell me what you think? Is this a cute Halloween look? I hope so! :)
