This Halloween I really found myself inspired by a more somber and romantic type of femme fatale character. My first instinct when thinking of a deadly woman was to be a vampiress but not a typical black cape or dress wearing character with a pair of fangs.
I was always partial to vampires because they were one of the only horror invented creatures that were basically human like. I always thought of them to be beautiful and powerful. As a child Anne Rice's novels would ring in my head and I would ponder thoughts of immortality and girls dressed up like lolita dolls with lots of lace and deep hues of black, maroon, and royal blues. When I invisioned my character I saw her as a more Interview With the Vampire type creature but with a very gothic mourning twist. Delicate, dark, and dangerous.
I also threw in the Nightwalks and really comfortable lace up socks for good measure. And because of my history as a ballerina. I love the nail detail of the heels that reminds me of putting spikes in a coffin as well as the small bit of lace neat the base of the shoe.
