Having an extra day this weekend was confusing in an aimless sort of way that left me wandering into a CVS unattended one night. With no one there to restrain me, I ended up buying a box of red hair dye, L’Oreal I think, along with unnecessarily large quantities of flavored water. Before really stopping to thinks things through, I drove back home and began globbing red dye all over my head, and sink, and bathroom tile. So far I think I like the change, but I still get really freaked out when I see something red in my peripheral vision so I guess I’m not entirely adjusted yet. I should really hold off on any other hair changes for a while though because, thanks to a myriad of chemicals, the ends of my hair are more than a little depressing. According to several hair dressers, I’m one more late-night, impulsively self-administered dye job away from getting what they call a “chemical haircut,” meaning my hair will literally melt off, and I’m guessing that would look a lot less appealing than a trim executed with scissors. Also, I’m sort of fixated on the idea of having disgustingly long hair, the kind that almost interferes with daily activities. Still trying to figure out if I need to dress to the more vibrant hue, though. Is wearing red kind of out of the question now?
