Basically a Portland uniform-taken during the only break in the rain today. Shortly after these were shot, I got on my bike and rode to one of my favorite places, Alivar Coffee on Sandy. Particularly blustery conditions made layering extremely necessary, so I decided to give in to the typical dress-code around here and piled on the plaid flannel button down, mutedly dark colors, and unapologetically skinny jeans. These heftily-leathered boots are kind of perfect for stomping around in puddles and combating spiked bike pedals, and they're conviently similar in hue to the sleeves on my Topshop faux leather jacket, which I overwear shamelessly. Considering the fact that my usual packing strategy involves a lot of random pulling of clothes hangers and blind tossing, compounded with the atypical haste that characterized my departure from L.A., I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that I actually managed to hook myself up with a decent number of things thin enough to layer but thick enough to be considered cozy. However, cursory inventory this morning revealed a significant lack of heeled footwear. Maybe this is the universe's way of telling me I should try to branch out a little in the shoe department...Challenge accepted.
