Contrasts are fascinating to me, whether it concerns the contrast between colors, between people's style, or between something else like organization's financing behavior (I'm a dedicated Business and Economics student next to my fashion blogging life). Today, I want to discuss the contrast between outerwear and clothing that you wear inside. I think it's really interesting to see the difference, especially when it's snowing and the temperatures are really really cold outside. I have to admit that I try to wear warm and cozy clothes inside the house as much as possible when the weather is like this so maybe the contrast isn't that big all the time, but this clearly wasn't the case today. When I opened the door and stepped into my front yard, I realized that I possibly looked like a rolled up blanket with a head on it. That is, I used the concept of 'layering clothes' quite convincing. However, the layers served for which they were intended, and I stayed warm even though it was far below zero degrees. At the time the rolled up blanket with the head on it (aka me, aka the dramaqueen when it comes to cold) arrived at her appointment, she had no blue hands or lips, no hurting toes and no other discomfort because of the freezing cold outside, so she was ready to shine on her appointment. The only thing left to obtain the inside outfit, was getting rid of the excessive layers, but that was just a matter of a couple of minutes. The 'inside outfit' is shown in the pictures below, and believe me when I say the contrast between this look and my outerwear look was HUGE! Anyway, I think this story is the proof that it's possible to wear an elegant look (even with pumps that doesn't protect your feet from the cold) to appointments on very cold winter days, without freezing to death when you go outside of the building. It's just a matter of creating a contrast between your inside look and your outerwear look.
