I'm going to let you in on a not so little secret about myself, there are good four days out of the week when I don't necessarily...match. This style quality of mine came about a few years ago when I bought a fuchsia pair of YSL heels that didn't quite fit in with the rest of my closet's color scheme. From that moment on I decided that if something doesn't match anything, I would wear it with everything (gotta get your money's worth). So now, there are days when I find myself layering some of my favorite wardrobe pieces, totally disregarding whether or not they would sit together at a lunch table if it were high school.
Meet today's example. The floral print Miss Me shorts, Matisse wedges and Miss Me plaid...three pieces that may or may not make sense together but completely define my style at the moment. A touch of neon mixed with flowers (which I am surprisingly into right now), a few holes and a classic Kentucky plaid to balance it all out. This is definitely something I've shown up to work in and would comfortably wear out to drinks with friends afterward. Nothing frightens me more than looking over-the-top girly, and while the shorts would fit that mold (for all you pastel-lovers out there) all it takes sometimes is a cue from the men's department to make the look your own.
